Full Time Infant Care Assistant Educator

Bonus Structure: $2000 *$1,000 after 6 months and $1,000 after 12 months

Hourly Rate: $16-$18

Under the guidance of the Head Teacher and Center Director, the Assistant Educator will engage in the framework of Harbor Child Care, implementing its educational philosophy, policies, and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Educator, under the direction of the Head Teacher and Associate Teacher, is tasked with planning and executing a classroom program that addresses the educational, social, and health needs of both the group and individual children. The Assistant Educator must be physically capable of lifting and carrying children and actively participating in age-appropriate activities.

Core Duties:
  • Contributes to the development of a program featuring developmentally suitable practices.
  • Adheres to Harbor's philosophy and policies, including health & safety, nutrition, and regulations as outlined in the Parent Policy, New Employee Welcome Manual, and Employee Handbook.
  • Effectively implements age-appropriate The Creative Curriculum.
  • Supports children during transitional periods.
  • Ensures the supervision of children at all times.
  • Engages in active work and outdoor activities.
  • Collaborates with the Head Teacher and Director regarding children with special needs.
Documentation:

Reporting:
  • Prepares six-week and biannual cumulative reports.
Parent Engagement:
  • Builds positive relationships with parents by maintaining confidentiality regarding all information about parents and children.
  • Participates in parent-teacher meetings.
  • Facilitates ongoing communication through daily notes, phone calls, etc.
  • Utilizes Contact Notes for staff and parent concerns.
Professional Development:
  • Takes responsibility for discussing professional performance during scheduled supervisor conferences with the Assistant Director or Director, using these meetings for feedback and guidance.
Training and Meetings:
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
  • Participates in weekly planning meetings with the Director.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience working with infants aged 3 months to 18 months is essential.
  • Availability required between 7 AM and 6 PM; shifts may vary.
