Senior Infant Educator
Embrace the chance to foster the growth and exploration of infants in a nurturing environment tailored for their development and autonomy.
Your Responsibilities
We seek a passionate and committed Senior Educator to guide a diverse group of infants within a Montessori framework.
In our Montessori setting, educators meticulously design an atmosphere that encourages independence and sparks a child's curiosity. They offer tailored assistance to each infant, engaging them individually and in small groups, demonstrating the use of materials and guiding them through activities with precise language to enrich their understanding.
Thanks to the thoughtfully arranged environment and personalized attention, infants in a Montessori classroom enjoy significant freedom to explore and engage with materials of their choosing for extended periods. Most importantly, this support and the resources available help each child cultivate skills, confidence, and a strong belief in their capabilities.
We are looking for a Senior Educator who is dedicated to helping every child achieve their fullest potential.
Key Responsibilities of Guidepost Infant Educators:
- Carefully observe each infant to comprehend and address their physical, intellectual, and emotional requirements.
- Respect the natural cycles of sleeping, eating, and toileting for each child.
- Create a beautiful and organized environment that promotes trust, exploration, profound learning, and independence.
- Encourage self-sufficiency and confidence by empowering children to 'do it all by themselves.'
- Build personal relationships with each child and foster a respectful community.
- Engage in respectful communication and collaboration with parents to ensure optimal care for every child.
Every classroom at Guidepost is equipped with a comprehensive array of high-quality Montessori materials for the infant/toddler curriculum, along with a budget for educators to customize their space. Each classroom is designed in accordance with Montessori principles of beauty and order, enabling every child to explore, learn, and confidently achieve their independence.
Features of a Guidepost Montessori infant space include:
- Ample open space for movement and exploration.
- Child-sized furniture and objects to facilitate independence.
- Curriculum promoting independence in dressing, feeding, and toilet learning.
- Scientifically designed learning materials to enhance fine and gross motor skills and more.
- Cozy rugs, natural plants, and abundant natural light.
- Breakable items made from natural materials like wood and metal instead of plastic.
- Objects for climbing, crawling, and exploration rather than restrictive baby-holding devices.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Interest in pursuing certified Montessori training through our Prepared Montessorian Institute (fully-sponsored) or possession of a Montessori diploma.
- Experience working with children aged 0-3 in group settings such as daycare, aftercare, or nursery.
- Familiarity with child-led educational philosophies like Reggio Emilia or Montessori, or a willingness to learn more.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development credits.
- Bachelor's Degree in any field.
- The chance to contribute to a high-quality Montessori program that caters to the unique needs of each child.
- Sponsored Montessori diploma and ongoing professional development through the Prepared Montessorian Institute.
- 75% tuition discount for two children at any school in our network (serving children from 3 months to 12th grade).
- A supportive network of peers and mentors who value your contributions and regularly share best practices.
- Numerous opportunities for career advancement and promotion.
- A competitive salary.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Paid time off and holidays.
Guidepost Montessori is an expanding network of over 120 Montessori schools, catering to children aged 0-12 in our Nido, Toddler, Children's House, and Elementary programs. With schools spanning from Shanghai to Paris and California to New York, as well as virtual schooling and homeschooling support, there are countless opportunities for passionate educators to assist children on their unique paths to success.
At Guidepost, we believe in the capabilities of children and design an education that fosters independence. Our mission is to radically transform education based on this belief—for children, parents, and educators alike.
Our goal? To ensure children fully experience and joyfully achieve their own development, reaching their highest potential and flourishing both in school and in life.
