Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Nursing Attendant to join our team at Northwell Health. As a valued member of our nursing care team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Registered Nurse (RN) in organizing patient care assignments and priorities, documenting patient status changes, and communicating routine information.
- Provide support to patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) needs, including meal preparation, feeding, bathing, toileting, and mobility assistance.
- Maintain patient care units in a neat and orderly condition by changing beds, cleaning bedside tables, and preparing rooms for new admissions.
- Assist the RN in performing selected procedures and treatments, such as recording vital signs, obtaining specimens, and administering enemas.
- Undertake various related duties, including assisting with patient movement, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness of equipment and non-patient rooms.
- Participate in continuing education programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Access medication areas as needed and perform any related duties as required.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Heart Saver Certification preferred.
- Prior experience as a Nursing Attendant preferred.
- Ability to lift, turn, and position patients.
- Ability to work in diverse settings.
