Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at Blanchard Machinery Company. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and managing vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies to minimize costs while ensuring quality and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Construct negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms to benefit the company's financial health.
  • Align procurement activities with company's financial goals and objectives and collaborate with various stakeholders within the company.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and financial goals.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and service criteria to achieve the best value for the company.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing the entire purchasing cycle.
  • Analyze market trends and forecast price movements to prepare the company for future procurement needs.
  • Mitigate risks associated with procurement activities to avoid potential financial losses.
  • Supervise the sourcing and purchasing of essential materials for business operations.
  • Researching suppliers to compare costs and quality of raw materials.
  • Negotiating purchase agreements and developing contracts.
  • Planning and overseeing the work of buyers and purchasing agents.
  • Hiring and training procurement staff.
  • Establishing procurement rules and guidelines for the organization.
  • Evaluating the quality, price, reliability, technical support, and availability of goods and services.
  • Managing vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with contracts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of related experience within a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in purchasing, negotiation, and procurement with strong understanding of pricing strategies, contract negotiation and management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present ideas with confidence and professionalism.
  • Experience with managing a multi-location procurement process.
  • Strong computer skills required, with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and Adobe Pro.
  • Strong leadership negotiation and excellent analytical skills to assess spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Excellent skills in supply chain management and supplier management.
  • Knowledge of inventory contract and processes.
