Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of professionals, providing training, development, and performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing department.

  • Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and alignment with customer goals and needs.
  • Drive innovation initiatives to stay ahead of industry trends and customer needs, implementing new technologies and optimizing resources for customer retention and growth.
  • Cultivate strong business relationships with customers by providing data-driven analytics and insights to support business growth and improvement.
  • Conduct regular operational best practices reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to drive business growth.
  • Hold team members accountable for execution of internal and external commitments, ensuring high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to drive business unit growth and develop strategies to achieve sales targets.
  • Responsible for carrier procurement and management, ensuring optimal rates and services are negotiated and maintained.
  • Assist with the implementation of productivity improvements, including Six Sigma and 5S methodologies.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of distribution services, automation, and value-added services.
  • Effective communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to maintain consistent, high-level operating metrics and service levels across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software.
  • Good negotiation skills and contracting/procurement experience.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking skills, ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Advanced degree in finance, transportation, logistics, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership position within a corporate office setting.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership experience.
