Job Title: Senior Buyer
Role Summary:
The Senior Buyer will take charge of a team of procurement professionals tasked with sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts for facility maintenance services and subcontractors on a national scale. This role will report directly to the Senior Category Manager - Interior Procurement and will collaborate closely with Account Managers and Operations as part of integrated project management teams. Key responsibilities include overseeing high-profile maintenance accounts, managing sourcing events, delegating responsibilities, ensuring compliance with processes, meeting deadlines, and achieving budgetary objectives. The Senior Buyer will also negotiate and review contracts, implement operational improvements, and enhance the overall profitability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directs the planning, execution, and communication of all sourcing initiatives and projects. Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress to ensure compliance with deadlines and budget constraints.
- Collaborates with Operations and Account Management to identify suitable contractors, ensuring that all locations have the necessary service provider contracts. Negotiate terms and rates with strategic partners and oversee the activities of assigned buyers. Cultivate relationships both internally and externally, participating in cross-functional meetings and coaching sessions with service providers. Establish a network of preferred vendors.
- Manage and communicate standardized processes and procedures to the team and the broader organization. Work alongside the Senior Category Manager and Director of Procurement to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
- Support employee development initiatives, focusing on training for current roles and skill enhancement for future opportunities.
- Engage in sourcing activities as needed to ensure that deadlines and objectives are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Five to seven years of relevant procurement experience is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
