Job Summary

The Enteral Patient Care Coordinator is tasked with overseeing patient care services and guaranteeing that patients receive top-notch care. This role involves processing incoming orders from referral sources and responding to patient inquiries through various communication channels, including phone calls, faxes, and emails. The ideal candidate will become adept at utilizing our enterprise system to accurately manage new patient orders and reorders for ongoing patients.

Requirements

  • Preferred experience with insurance providers.
  • Strongly preferred background in patient admissions within a similar referral-based practice and customer service in an inbound/outbound center.
  • Customer service experience in a Home Medical Equipment setting is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare services environment is preferred.
  • Experience working with enteral therapy patients or pediatric enteral nutrition formulas is a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitating the onboarding process for new patients post-hospital discharge or company transition.
  • Managing resupply orders for patients currently receiving services.
  • Reviewing patient records to confirm medical necessity for services prescribed by physicians.
  • Conducting insurance and benefit verifications; securing prior authorizations.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here represent the requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While executing the responsibilities of this role, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently needs to walk, use hands for various tasks, and reach with arms. This position may require lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing as needed. The ability to occasionally lift office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, with a maximum of 50 pounds, is necessary.
