Position Overview

Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) is on the lookout for a seasoned Engineer to join our team and elevate our solution-oriented business model. In this capacity, you will collaborate with our engineering team, managing energy efficiency initiatives, conducting facility energy evaluations, feasibility analyses, and delivering strategic energy management services to our utility clients' customers. From the outset, our engineers have the chance to engage directly with clients, designing, developing, testing, and executing state-of-the-art energy efficiency and demand response solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of program services, client objectives, organizational goals, and business strategies, assessing systems and processes, and pinpointing areas for enhancement.
  • Consult with clients to pinpoint energy efficiency solutions, outline project requirements, and establish company standards utilizing simulations and modeling to support business cases.
  • Adhere to Energy Infrastructure Partners' quality benchmarks while maintaining a thorough knowledge of relevant technologies, best practices, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Mentor, train, and develop junior engineers, guiding technical direction, serving as a technical liaison between clients, and fostering the professional growth of team members.
Daily and Monthly Duties
  • Oversee members of our engineering team, including project triage and delegation, and project management to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Manage the execution and prompt completion of engineering projects by analyzing scope and determining project specifications, establishing testing methodologies for product investigations, analyzing test programs for adequacy and sequence, and preparing reports.
  • Provide solutions through engineering calculations and modeling based on the ability to interpret shop drawings, diagrams, project specifications, budget estimates, and site assessments.
  • Assess system functionality through rigorous testing, identifying opportunities for efficiency and productivity improvements, and providing maintenance and support for all existing solutions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and implement suitable methods to keep production at the forefront while achieving financial objectives and delivering cost savings.
  • Utilize software programming for the preparation of technical specifications, user documentation, presentations, and tracking progress and results.
  • Enhance professional skills through ongoing training, education, and networking opportunities, focusing on the development of team members.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 10 years of experience as an engineer, preferably in the energy sector with building facilities experience.
  • Strong engineering design and technical expertise with building systems, HVAC, industrial manufacturing, and lighting systems.
  • Strong emphasis on quality control.
  • Proficient project/team management skills.
  • Consultative ability to collaborate with clients in developing solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) state license.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience in developing decarbonization strategies for clients, municipalities, or utilities.
  • Experience with utility and governmental energy program implementation.
  • Experience in facilities management or energy management (CEM).
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve energy consumption challenges from opportunity identification to project implementation and the necessary measurement and verification (M&V) of its impacts.
  • Strong energy and regression modeling capabilities.
  • Experience in technical sales, business development, or RFP development.
