Role Summary:

The Client Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in our mission, acting as the primary liaison for clients interested in participating in our weatherization assistance initiatives. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic individual passionate about social equity and community improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial orientation sessions with homeowners and tenants to inform them about the Weatherization Program and its benefits.
  • Ensure all documentation for weatherization is accurate and compliant with the Homes and Community Renewal policies.
  • Educate clients on the significance of energy efficiency in their residences.
  • Perform home visits and pre-inspections for small and multi-family units to gather necessary eligibility documentation.
  • Manage outreach and marketing efforts to engage clients through various communication channels.
  • Facilitate evening and weekend meetings to accommodate clients who are unavailable during standard hours.
  • Support the Weatherization Director with administrative tasks related to the Weatherization Contract.
  • Participate in training sessions as directed by the Weatherization Director.
  • Maintain and update a client pipeline list for reporting purposes.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Director or Administrative/Intake Specialist.
  • Contribute to the EMPOWER Program for both 1-4 unit and multi-family buildings.
  • Support the CON EDISON and NATIONAL GRID Programs for eligible properties.
  • Collaborate with the Production Coordinator and Program Coordinator on various tasks as needed.
  • Perform additional job-related duties to further our organizational mission.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of college education.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Excel.
  • A valid NYS Driver's License.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse clients and colleagues.
  • Capacity to relate to various types of housing while prioritizing personal health and safety.
