Position: Technical Business Analyst
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite 3x per week)

We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst with extensive experience in Agile methodologies and a consultative approach to effectively manage technical projects. This role is essential in converting business requirements into technical specifications while adapting to the dynamic nature of a changing business environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Agile Methodology Advocate: Facilitate Agile requirement sessions, fostering an atmosphere where stakeholders can express their needs clearly. Efficiently create and oversee user stories, prioritizing speed and flexibility over perfection. You will be the vital connection ensuring the uninterrupted flow of stories without getting bogged down by excessive analysis.
  • User Story Development: Craft detailed user stories that encapsulate key information while avoiding unnecessary intricacies. This requires a keen understanding of project demands coupled with a proactive approach, acknowledging that complete information may not always be accessible.
  • Product Owner Liaison: Work closely with the Product Owner, stepping in as their representative when necessary. You will make informed decisions based on your comprehensive understanding of the role, ensuring user stories align with business objectives and project aims.
  • Thriving in Uncertainty: Successfully navigate and excel in scenarios where complete details are not available.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate directly with business units that may not possess extensive technical expertise. Your role includes simplifying technical concepts and ensuring that solutions effectively address their practical needs without unnecessary complications.
  • Data and Analytics Leadership: Conduct discovery sessions to evaluate analytics requirements, ensuring that delivered solutions meet the evolving needs of the data lifecycle. Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, translating business needs into actionable analytics specifications.
  • Collaborative Solution Development: Partner closely with data analytics and development teams to provide optimal solutions, assisting in the creation of intuitive dashboards and visualizations. Engage with knowledge workers to ensure that informational needs are met and effectively communicated.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Transfer: Serve as a knowledge resource for both technical teams and business units, providing training and guidance to facilitate smooth project execution and comprehension across the board.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience as a business analyst, with a strong emphasis on Agile/Scrum practices.
  • Outstanding meeting facilitation skills, enabling effective cross-functional collaboration and engagement.
  • Expertise in creating and managing user stories that propel project advancement without unnecessary delays.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to evaluate business needs and translate them into actionable requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and familiarity with Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
  • Capacity to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience in analytics, data management, or related domains.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Management, or a related field; a degree in Computer Science is advantageous.
  • Experience with data management tools such as Snowflake and Power BI.
  • Proven history of developing analytical strategies to tackle complex business challenges.
