Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer in the Civil division to join our team. The successful candidate will have the ability to interact with various staff members at all levels, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and provide analysis of field coordination issues with project team members and participants.
  • Implement the pre-construction quality plan and obtain and maintain all necessary construction permits.
  • Work with the Project Manager to ensure fee payments and recurring permit expenses are handled efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain material tracking lists, project test and inspection listings, concrete placement logs, and non-conformance reports.
  • Manage and distribute contract documents, establish handling procedures for electronic documents, and incorporate processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase.
  • Manage all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program, including implementing a three-phase inspection system and establishing reporting formats, protocols, schedules, and off-site testing procedures.
  • Manage submittals, including setting up registers, obtaining customer/architect approval, preparing project-specific transmittal forms, coordinating packaging, review, and processing of submittals, and expediting submittals to ensure material deliveries are in sync with the project schedule.
  • Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders, define and implement procedures for posting revisions and updates to as-built construction documents, and incorporate subcontractor as-built documentation in the procedures for revising or updating contract documents.
  • Responsible for mentoring, managing, and timely performance evaluation of field engineers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including determining alternative work methods, coordinating safety and compliance for all team members, and maintaining schedules of timelines and following through until completion.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years related construction experience.
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
  • Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills.
  • Current driver's license.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
