Position Overview

Stantec is a prominent firm specializing in the design of waterfront infrastructure and large-scale civil engineering projects. We are currently in search of a Senior Structural Engineer with expertise in marine and waterfront design to enhance our New England Transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct marine and waterfront engineering tasks that are diverse and complex, ensuring adherence to technical codes and standards.
  • Oversee engineering planning and design at critical phases of projects.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers, ensuring high-quality technical output.
  • Analyze intricate problems and propose innovative solutions.
  • Lead the creation and coordination of project deliverables, including contract documentation.
  • Review and validate contract deliverables, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Engage with clients and regulatory agencies to clarify project requirements and secure necessary approvals.
  • Manage project budgets and financial performance, utilizing project management tools.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in marine and waterfront structures.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in a New England state, with the ability to obtain additional licenses as required.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software, including MathCAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis tools.
  • Experience with federal agency projects related to engineering and construction.
