The Leadership Events Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the designated revenue portfolio meets its financial targets. This includes managing various events such as luncheons, dinners, galas, and other special occasions as assigned.


Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Generation for Leadership Events (80%):

  • Execute campaign strategies, fundraising objectives, and goals that align with the Society's mission.
  • Oversee the implementation of fundraising initiatives, ensuring that necessary resources are allocated to achieve objectives.
  • Manage a specific budget for Leadership Events, tracking and adjusting revenue and expenses throughout the fiscal year; provide updates and projections to management.
  • Utilize market research and competitive analysis to inform future fundraising strategies.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with corporate partners and individual donors.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to the Society's supporters.

Collaboration Across Departments (10%):

  • Engage with staff and volunteers to align market strategies with organizational priorities and foster personal and team development.
  • Work with the Individual Giving and Major Gift Team to ensure a cohesive approach to major donors who are also event participants or sponsors.
  • Collaborate with market leadership, individual giving, and corporate teams to manage donor and sponsor relationships effectively.
  • Ensure proper mechanisms are in place for donation processing and expense tracking.
  • Partner with the Marketing department to enhance the Society's outreach and revenue generation.
  • Maintain accurate donor records in the national database and facilitate donor recognition.

Volunteer Engagement for Fundraising and Events (10%):

  • Expand the Society's volunteer base focused on Leadership Events by identifying and recruiting talent.
  • Engage volunteers in meaningful roles that are well-defined and structured, enhancing their skills and contributions.
  • Ensure volunteer actions align with Society Operating Principles; provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Support volunteers in establishing action-oriented leadership committees for fundraising and event experiences.
  • Foster volunteer development, encouraging feedback and shared learning opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising and event management.
  • Proven ability to build and lead fundraising committees.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of fundraising success.
  • Understanding of corporate and individual giving dynamics.
  • Self-motivated and capable of achieving goals independently.
  • Ability to establish credibility and contribute to key priorities swiftly.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating a cohesive team of volunteer leaders.
  • Creative and energetic, thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient in managing and motivating groups.
  • Excellent negotiation abilities.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and online fundraising tools.
  • Valid driver's license and access to personal transportation.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Compensation & Benefits:

The estimated salary range for this position is $48,000 - $58,000, based on the Society's compensation framework. Final offers will consider geographic location and relevant experience.
