As an Aerospace Engine Inspection Specialist, you will conduct visual and dimensional assessments on engines, accessories, and related components to ascertain their condition for service return, adhering to approved specifications and customer standards. You will also cross-train in other relevant skills to support production needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of products undergoing repair or overhaul to confirm compliance with approved specifications and customer requirements.
  • Document and verify the modification status/configuration of products in the repair process to ensure adherence to applicable regulations and customer standards.
  • Ensure inspected products are adequately cleaned and in suitable condition for thorough inspections.
  • Assess the repairability of products that do not meet applicable standards.
  • Record inspection outcomes on the relevant documentation.
  • Estimate costs for replacement parts and labor needed to fulfill work instructions.
  • Generate necessary documentation for the repair of unserviceable items.
  • Inspect and identify components in the Reduced to Parts (RTP) process.
  • Carry out physical inspections of parts in the Check for Acceptance (C for A) process.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
  • Cross-train in complementary skills and seek endorsements as required to meet production demands.
  • Adapt to various production assignments utilizing multiple skills as necessary.
  • Assist in the training of fellow technicians as needed to support production requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and promptly report any unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret blueprints.
  • Knowledgeable in identifying and interpreting conditions on products resulting from service operations.
  • Capable of utilizing and interpreting production process publications (graphs, charts, schematics, blueprints).
  • Understanding of the functions and operations of the products being inspected.
  • Skilled in technical writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with production management software and related internal control systems.
  • Completion of the Detail Inspector Training & Development Plan.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the workday.
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work day, evening, or weekend shifts as necessary.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
