Position Overview:

The Flight Training Specialist will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training for Guardian Flight's fleet of Pilatus PC-12 aircraft. This role encompasses instruction in the classroom, simulator, and in-flight settings for both initial and recurrent training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

The instructor will ensure that newly hired pilots receive thorough training and possess the necessary skills to perform air medical flight operations in alignment with the company's Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, relevant FARs, and other internal policies. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting ground training sessions and verifying that all documentation is accurately completed.
  • Performing checkrides in accordance with FAA regulations after gaining sufficient operational experience.

Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 2,500 hours of flight experience, including 1,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of airplanes, 500 hours of cross-country flight, and 100 hours of night flying.
  • Experience with the Pilatus PC-12 is essential.
  • Possession of Commercial, Instrument, and Single-Engine Land certifications.
  • Current FAA Second Class Medical certificate issued within the last twelve months.
  • Single-Engine Commercial license (ATP preferred).
  • CFI certification is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Previous instructing experience is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with Garmin avionics is advantageous.

Essential Duties:

The Flight Training Specialist will:

  • Manage classroom environments during training sessions.
  • Plan and oversee daily training schedules and assignments.
  • Conduct training in accordance with the FAA-Approved Training Manual.
  • Ensure compliance with required exercises and documentation.
  • Instruct on the proper use of company manuals and documentation.
  • Teach techniques for loading and distributing cargo, passengers, and patients.
  • Guide trainees through pre-flight duties and inspections.
  • Instruct on securing cargo and ensuring passenger comfort.
  • Provide guidance on optimal aircraft operation considering various factors.
  • Serve as a simulator instructor for training courses.
  • Coordinate with trainee pilots during flight operations.
  • Maintain knowledge of aviation regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure all required flight logs and maintenance forms are completed.
  • Assist in developing training materials and resources.

Compensation and Benefits:

The position offers a competitive salary range of $102,000 to $112,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k with company match, life insurance, and more.
