Starting Salary: $102,000 to $112,000
Additional $5,000 annual stipend upon successful completion of Initial Check Pilot Training
Sign-on bonus of $15,000 (post successful training/checkride) without a training contract
$40,000 retention bonus (6-month waiting period, applicable for a 3-year commitment)
$5,000 relocation assistance (if applicable)
Maintains a schedule as established by the organization, typically 14 to 16 days per month

- Current Guardian Flight pilots will receive the new hire instructor base salary, before Geo Modifier if applicable, or their current base hourly rate converted to salary, whichever is higher.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Aviation Training Specialist will facilitate training for Guardian Flight's fleet of Pilatus PC-12 aircraft.
Training will encompass classroom instruction, simulator sessions, and in-flight training for both initial and recurrent courses.
The specialist will ensure that new hire pilots are adequately trained and possess the necessary knowledge to conduct air medical flight operations in compliance with the company Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures manual, relevant FARs, Airplane Flight Manuals, and any other organizational policies.
Furthermore, after gaining experience in Guardian Flight operations, the Aviation Training Specialist will conduct checkrides per FAR .297 and .299.
REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 2,500 hours of flight experience, including 1,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of airplanes, 500 hours of cross-country flight, and 100 hours of night flight.
Additionally, 100 hours of actual or simulated instrument time, with at least 75 hours of that time being in actual flight.
Experience with the Pilatus PC12 is essential.Must hold a Commercial, Instrument, and Single-Engine Land license.
FAA Second Class Medical certification issued within the last twelve months.
Single-Engine Commercial (ATP preferred).
CFI certification preferred.
Must possess a valid and unexpired driver's license.
Experience in instructing is highly valued.
Familiarity with Garmin avionics is advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees and manages the classroom environment during new-hire and recurrent pilot training.
Plans classroom assignments and manages the daily training schedule.
Conducts training activities in accordance with the FAA-Approved Training Manual.
Distributes classroom assignments and ensures compliance with required exercises.
Instructs on the proper use of all associated company documentation, including aircraft manuals, load manifests, dispatch risk assessments, operations manual, aeronautical charts, etc.
Instructs on the correct techniques for loading/distributing cargo, passengers, and patients, ensuring that weight and balance computations are within prescribed limits.
Instructs on pre-flight duties, including inspection of engines, fluid levels, airframe condition, control surface integrity, avionics database currency, personal equipment, ramp securing/mooring, and aircraft logbook.
Instructs on ensuring cargo is secured, passenger comfort is addressed, and emergency equipment such as life rafts and life vests (if required) are onboard.
Instructs on determining optimal aircraft operation at favorable altitudes, considering turbulence, hazardous weather, oxygen requirements, and passenger comfort.
Serves as a simulator instructor for both initial and recurrent training courses.For in-flight training, ensures proper coordination with trainee pilots regarding aircraft pre-flight inspections, equipment loading, weight & balance computations, and weather briefings for assigned flights.
During flight operations, gathers briefing information regarding the flight's purpose, weather, special operating procedures, airport facilities, navigational aids, and any specific limitations.
Instructs on the proper filing of FAA flight plans and providing relevant information to the company Communications Center for flight following.
Encourages a positive team attitude among flight crew members, medical clinicians, maintenance technicians, and communication specialists.Maintains current knowledge of relevant aviation regulations, aircraft operational/equipment changes, and company policies.
Instructs to ensure all required flight logs, records, and maintenance forms are accurately completed and submitted.
Conducts maintenance check flights and aircraft repositioning flights between maintenance bases and operational remote bases.
Assists in the coordination, distribution, and development of pilot training materials, including PowerPoint presentations, training manuals, curriculum guides, homework exercises, and associated training management forms.
