We are seeking a seasoned leader to join our high-performing Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections team at Okta, Inc. As a key member of our finance organization, you will be responsible for driving process improvements, leading a team of professionals, and ensuring the efficient management of our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of effective collections strategies, including the creation of reminders, collections, and deactivations or work stoppage.
- Uplevel our AR and collections teams through hands-on development and coaching, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Design and implement effective reporting and forecasting models to drive business decisions and optimize financial performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Monitor collections and refund targets, providing regular reporting and insights to inform business decisions.
- Prepare and review financial reconciliations schedules, maintaining the allowance for bad debt balance and improving processes to reduce time-to-close.
- Assess and implement additional operational and SOX controls to ensure compliance and risk management.
- Reinforce a customer-centric culture, promoting collaborative relationships with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Senior Leadership.
- Perform financial and credit analysis on new customer applications, past due accounts, high-risk customers, and other financial impact areas.
- Evaluate and mature billing and cash applications processes with automation, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Establish and monitor quarterly aging, cash, and DSO goals, comparing forecast vs. plan to drive business decisions.
- Create and implement KPIs and other indicators to assess team performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with credit policy and regulatory requirements, maintaining a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Lead the AR, Credit & Collections Team to achieve operational excellence, driving continuous improvement in collections, customer service, and process improvements.
- 8+ years of experience in Credit and Collections, with a strong background in financial operations and leadership.
- 5+ years of progressive management and leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving process improvements and team development.
- Experience in the tech and SaaS industry, with a strong understanding of financial tools and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to problem-solve, think critically, and drive results.
- Executive presence, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate and present to senior management.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
