Customer Experience Specialist

Design Within Reach is seeking a Customer Experience Specialist to enhance our Customer Experience department. In this role, you will be pivotal in supporting all client service operations and assisting the Customer Experience team. This position reports directly to the Customer Experience Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Customer Experience Specialist, you will have the chance to develop, achieve, and foster relationships daily by:

  • Handling diverse customer service inquiries with professionalism, ensuring accuracy in information, and demonstrating empathy through effective communication.
  • Evaluating customer support requirements via written communication or phone interactions, resolving issues thoroughly and clearly.
  • Regularly engaging in various operational specialties and skill sets to broaden your expertise.
  • Gaining in-depth knowledge of product offerings and company policies to efficiently address customer service requests.
  • Providing essential Customer Care support to the Sales Organization, which includes:
    • Managing inquiries related to tax exemption and trade discount qualifications, ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted.
    • Addressing and resolving sales order payment discrepancies.
    • Processing return and exchange requests through Operations, ensuring proper documentation and prompt resolution of customer needs.
    • Maintaining product knowledge to effectively respond to inquiries regarding products and parts.
    • Utilizing operational systems to provide accurate information to the sales team.

This position may be a fit for you if you possess the following qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a customer service role with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Discretion in managing confidential financial and personal information.
  • Capability to handle stressful and challenging situations thoughtfully.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with other tools is a plus.
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Availability to work a Tuesday-Saturday schedule.
