Position Summary:

As a Mechanical Cost Estimator at Delta Constructors, you will be responsible for generating precise estimates for a variety of mechanical projects, including but not limited to pumping stations, pipelines, storage tank facilities, and control systems. Your role will involve a thorough review of bid documents, crafting competitive and accurate bid proposals, and analyzing project specifications to assess profitability. You will be instrumental in fostering strong relationships with clients and suppliers while ensuring the company's interests are prioritized.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess bid documents to identify project scope and requirements
  • Prepare competitive bid proposals that reflect project needs
  • Estimate project costs while accounting for specific site conditions
  • Generate material takeoffs and solicit quotes from suppliers
  • Engage in estimating and project meetings to align on objectives
  • Address and resolve conflicts that may arise during the bidding phase
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to enhance future efficiency
  • Assist in the formulation of estimates and project timelines
  • Travel to project sites for bid preparation and client consultations
  • Support the development of work execution strategies
  • Perform additional duties as required
Essential Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED is mandatory
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a mechanical estimator in the oil and gas sector
  • Proficiency in estimating software, particularly WinEst
  • OSHA 10 and H2S certifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Skills & Competencies:
  • Experience in cost estimation within the oil and gas industry
  • Ability to manage bids ranging from $50K to $30MM
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and decision-making abilities
  • Capacity to manage stress and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in database management systems
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to work flexible hours
Physical Requirements:

This position may require you to sit, stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds. The work environment may vary, including office settings and occasional weekend responsibilities.
