Position Summary:

As a Mechanical Cost Estimator at Delta Constructors, you will be responsible for formulating cost estimates for a variety of mechanical projects, including but not limited to pumping stations, pipelines, storage tank facilities, and control systems. Your role will involve scrutinizing bid documents, crafting precise and competitive bid proposals, and evaluating bid documents to assess profitability. You will be instrumental in fostering positive relationships with clients and suppliers while ensuring the company's interests are upheld. A comprehensive understanding of Civil, Structural, and Mechanical Piping processes within the Industrial Fabrication sector is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze bid documents to ascertain project scope
  • Prepare competitive bid proposals
  • Estimate project costs while accounting for specific job conditions
  • Generate material takeoffs and solicit quotes
  • Engage in estimating and project meetings
  • Address conflicts that arise during the bidding process
  • Conduct post-project evaluations for efficiency improvements
  • Assist in the formulation of estimates and project timelines
  • Travel to project sites for bid preparation and client interactions
  • Support the development of work execution strategies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED is mandatory
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a mechanical estimator in the oil and gas sector
  • Familiarity with estimating software such as WinEst
  • OSHA 10 and H2S certifications (or the ability to obtain them)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
Skills & Competencies:
  • Proven experience in cost estimation within the oil and gas industry
  • Expertise in managing bids ranging from $50K to $30MM
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and decision-making abilities
  • Capacity to manage stress and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficient in database management
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to work flexible hours
Physical Demands:

This role may require you to sit, stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds. The work environment may vary from office settings to occasional weekend assignments.
