Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemical Management Specialist to join our team at ACV Enviro. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient management of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to assess customer compliance with hazmat storage, waste management, and occupational safety regulations.
  • Handle, classify, segregate, label, and package hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to Federal and State regulations.
  • Train laboratory and production staff on proper chemical handling and storage techniques, as well as relevant environmental laws.
  • Respond to emergency chemical spills and perform cleanup duties.
  • Prepare shipping documents and coordinate transportation of chemical products and hazardous waste materials to and from customer sites.
  • Perform consolidation of hazardous materials and waste, including bulking and repackaging.
  • Provide expert knowledge on government regulations, health and safety practices, and proper disposal methods to customers.
Requirements
  • 4-year BA/BS degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience in hazardous waste classification, lab pack segregation, and waste handling.
  • Working knowledge of applicable DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to obtain a commercial driver's license within 90 days of employment.
  • Willingness to wear and properly use all levels of personal protective equipment (PPE), including air-purifying respirators.
  • Pass a Pre-Employment Physical, Drug Screen, and Alcohol testing.
  • Pass a Pre-Employment Background Screening.
  • Pass the Company's Auto Insurance Qualifiers.
  • Pass the OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training.
