Job Summary

Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Front Desk Manager to support the Office of International Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the reception area, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure front desk coverage during office hours
  • Receive and welcome walk-in and phone customers
  • Assist with appointment scheduling and troubleshooting
  • Answer basic immigration questions and provide general administrative support
  • Receive and process immigration document requests
  • Serve as a Designated School Official and issue visa documents
  • Assist with administrative projects and tasks as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 5-8 years of administrative support experience
  • Experience working in a higher education setting preferred
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks
