The Patient Access Supervisor will oversee the proactive management of client relationships and strategies to ensure that quality standards are upheld in patient care. This role will also supervise staff and ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations. Effective communication between team members and other departments is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Registration: Ensure accurate collection of demographic information and provide explanations of necessary documents to patients during registration.
  • Insurance Collection: Document insurance details accurately and assist patients with understanding and collecting co-payments and self-pay deposits.
  • Work Environment: Foster a positive workplace atmosphere that aligns with the values of the service area and Guidehouse.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations in the absence of the Department Supervisor.
  • Role Model: Exhibit a positive demeanor and serve as a mentor for team members.
  • Timecard Monitoring: Ensure timely completion of employee timecards.
  • Shift Scheduling: Organize schedules for all shifts.
  • Admissions Monitoring: Daily review of all admissions and registrations to confirm that all forms are completed, insurance is verified, and demographic data is accurate.
  • Training: Assist in onboarding and training new employees.
  • Administrative Support: Aid in departmental administration for reporting, documentation, payroll, and statistical data.
  • Patient Interaction: Meet with patients to address inquiries regarding their billing statements.
  • Financial Counseling: Provide financial guidance and assist patients with payment options.
  • Account Management: Support account reconciliation and merging processes.
  • Operational Support: Assist frontline operations as needed, including during staff shortages.
  • Staff Assignments: Collaborate with the Supervisor on staff and station assignments.
  • Flexible Support: Adapt to varied shifts as required.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as assigned, focusing on Financial Counseling, Cashiering, and Customer Service, including assisting patients with Medi-Cal applications.
  • Cash Management: Maintain and reconcile cash balances.
  • Billing Inquiries: Investigate billing questions from the Business office.
  • Financial Assistance Knowledge: Previous experience with State and Federal financial assistance programs is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology.

Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $49,800. Compensation decisions are influenced by various factors, including skills, experience, training, security clearances, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs.
