The Patient Access Supervisor will oversee the proactive management of client relationships and strategies to ensure adherence to quality standards in patient care. This role will also involve supervising staff and ensuring compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations. The Supervisor will facilitate communication between staff and other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Registration: Ensure accurate collection of demographic information and provide explanations of necessary documents to patients during registration.
  • Insurance Collection: Document insurance details accurately and assist patients with understanding and collecting co-payments and self-pay deposits.
  • Work Environment: Foster a positive workplace atmosphere that aligns with the values of the service area and Guidehouse.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage departmental operations in the absence of the Department Supervisor.
  • Role Modeling: Exhibit a positive demeanor and serve as a role model for team members.
  • Timecard Monitoring: Ensure the timely completion of employee timecards.
  • Shift Scheduling: Coordinate schedules for all shifts.
  • Admissions Monitoring: Daily review of admissions and registrations to confirm all forms are completed and insurance is verified and authorized.
  • Training: Assist in training newly hired employees.
  • Department Administration: Support administrative tasks related to reports, documentation, payroll, and statistical data.
  • Patient Interaction: Meet with patients to address inquiries regarding their billing statements.
  • Financial Counseling: Provide financial guidance and assist patients with payment options.
  • Account Management: Aid in account reconciliation and merging processes.
  • Frontline Support: Assist frontline operations as necessary, especially during staff shortages.
  • Staff Assignments: Help the Supervisor with staff and station assignments.
  • Shift Flexibility: Support various shifts as required.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned, particularly in Financial Counseling, Cashiering, and Customer Service, including assisting patients with Medi-Cal applications.
  • Cash Management: Maintain and reconcile cash balances.
  • Billing Inquiries: Investigate billing questions from the Business office.
  • Experience: Previous experience with State and Federal financial assistance programs is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology.

Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $49,800. Compensation decisions are influenced by various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, security clearances, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs.
