As a pivotal member of our team at M.C. Dean, Inc., the Electrical Crew Leader is responsible for the effective planning, organization, and scheduling of electrical crews to ensure the successful completion of assigned work orders. This role involves assigning tasks, overseeing the quality of installations, and conducting thorough quality inspections. The leader will monitor task completion, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and proactively prevent any safety issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Productivity Management: Develop and implement productivity plans for the designated scope of work.
  2. Performance Monitoring: Ensure that the crew meets daily productivity targets.
  3. Material Organization: Systematically organize materials by specific areas or floors, maintaining accurate inventory records.
  4. Tool and Equipment Oversight: Identify and manage all necessary tools and equipment for crew operations, including conducting inspections and maintaining a sign-in/out sheet.
  5. Information Management: Ensure that each crew activity is supported by comprehensive information packages, including contract drawings and schedules.
  6. Break Management: Monitor and control break times to minimize loss of productivity.
  7. Reporting: Submit daily hour/unit reports for each crew member to the Foreman using the established format.
  8. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control inspections of completed work, adhering to the established quality control plan and checklists.
  9. Professional Installation: Ensure that all work is performed to a high standard of quality and professionalism.
  10. As-Built Documentation: Maintain accurate as-built drawings, updating and logging them weekly.
  11. Inventory Management: Conduct end-of-day inventory checks for all tools and equipment, ensuring accountability and security.
  12. Safety Compliance: Review and sign all relevant AHA documents with crew members, ensuring they are stored appropriately.
  13. Accident Reporting: Follow established procedures for reporting and investigating accidents, ensuring all reports are submitted promptly.
  14. Site Cleanliness: Oversee the cleanup of work areas, ensuring they are left in a clean and orderly condition at the end of each day.
Quality Standards:
  1. Ensure that installations comply with all relevant codes, contractual obligations, and best practices as outlined in the Corporate Quality Policy.
  2. Review and implement all aspects of the Project Quality Plan, documenting any deviations for approval.
  3. Assist the Site Quality Control representative in executing the 3-Phase Quality Control process for each definable feature of work.
  4. Document and return CQC checklists to the Site Quality Control representative in a timely manner.
  5. Initiate discrepancy notices to ensure that any construction issues are documented and communicated effectively.
  6. Review weekly installation quality scorecards to address systemic issues through corrective actions.
  7. Discuss ongoing quality issues with the crew to mitigate nonconformities.
  8. Ensure timely resolution of nonconformity tags identified by the site Quality Control representative.
  9. Participate in Quality Design Reviews to identify and address constructability issues.
  10. Contribute to the quality portion of daily ORM work briefings.
Qualifications:
  1. 6-8 years of experience in the electrical industry with a High School Diploma or GED.
  2. 4-6 years of experience with an Associate Degree.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to lift at least 100 pounds and carry 60 pounds for extended periods.
  2. Capable of relocating a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  3. Comfortable working at heights up to 60 feet and maintaining balance on various types of ladders and scaffolds.
  4. Regularly engage in physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting, and reaching overhead.
  5. Possess good vision and hearing, with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
  6. Recognize potential problems and apply general rules to solve specific issues.
  7. Ability to synthesize information and identify relationships among various data points.
  8. Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to listen and comprehend spoken information.
