Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and manage a team of skilled electricians responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, assign, and inspect the work of approximately 10 electricians.
- Schedule and supervise the installation of conduits, wiring, fixtures, and equipment on a large campus.
- Manage the maintenance and operation of the high voltage electrical system, including preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults in campus buildings and infrastructure.
- Maintain fire alarm systems, including testing and diagnosing issues.
- Research and implement new operational methods and technologies.
- Review plans for new buildings to ensure compliance with electrical codes.
- Oversee electrical installations and repairs conducted by external contractors.
- Continuously seek improvements in operations and customer service.
- Assist in preparing specifications for electrical equipment purchases.
- Participate in capital planning for long-term electrical upgrades.
- Ensure adherence to budgeting guidelines and manage a maintenance reserve budget.
- Coordinate electrical outages as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to electrical work and incidents.

- Procure necessary supplies and materials for daily operations.
- Prepare labor and material estimates for projects.
- Utilize computer systems for reporting and documentation.
- Supervise and train staff, making decisions regarding hiring and performance evaluations.
- Interpret and enforce university policies and safety regulations.
- Proactively identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
- Maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
- Monitor and document staff performance and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure productivity of all staff throughout the workday.
- Utilize timekeeping systems for accurate reporting of attendance.
- Be available for overtime and emergency response as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 10 years of experience in electrical maintenance and repair, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience with high voltage electrical systems and their operation.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards.
- Completion of an electrical journeyman level program or higher, with a valid state or county electrical license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal education in the electrical field beyond high school.
- Experience supervising in a unionized environment.
- Master Electrician License.
