Dignity Health Advance Imaging, a division of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, offers advanced diagnostic imaging services across multiple locations in the greater Sacramento and Woodland regions.

Our dedicated team of 160 professionals collaborates with specialty-trained and board-certified radiologists to ensure high-quality care for our patients.

These facilities conduct a significant number of exams annually, with a focus on delivering exceptional imaging services, compassionate care, and prompt service.


Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Radiation Therapy Physicist is vital in guaranteeing the safe and effective administration of radiation therapy to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Radiological Physics and Dosimetry:

  • Ensure precise delivery of planned radiation therapy treatments.
  • Develop and uphold quality control protocols for equipment.
  • Participate in quality assurance and utilization review initiatives.
  • Guarantee adherence to radiation licensing and accreditation standards.

Radiation Safety:

  • Implement radiation protection principles to safeguard all individuals.
  • Provide radiation safety support to the department and patients.

Patient Care:

  • Deliver patient education regarding treatment processes.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and staff to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Prepare dose distributions and treatment plan diagrams.
  • Provide training and support to staff as necessary.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts with physicians, administration, and staff.
  • Flexibility to work at various locations within the Greater Sacramento Area as required.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

+ Master's degree in a relevant field.
+ A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Medical Radiation Physicist.
+ Board Certified by ABR/ABMP in Radiation Therapy Physics or eligible for certification.
+ Familiarity with ARIA Record & Verify (R&V) systems.
  • Provide guidance and consultation for dosimetry.


+ Knowledge of California radiation compliance standards and ability to act as an administrator as required.
+ Capacity to work independently and collaboratively, especially in unforeseen circumstances, to promote efficient department operations.
+ Conduct radiation safety assessments, radioactive material surveys, and maintain radioactive material inventories.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Four (4) years of experience as a Medical Radiation Physicist is preferred.
+ Experience with Varian linear accelerators is highly desirable.
+ Familiarity with treatment planning in external and High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy is preferred.
