About the Role
Dignity Health Medical Foundation is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team in the Radiation Oncology department. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate delivery of planned radiation therapy treatment, including dose distributions and diagrams of treatment plans.
- Develop and maintain quality control policies for equipment, participate in quality assurance and utilization review programs, and apply radiation protection principles to ensure safety for everyone.
- Ensure compliance with radiation licensing and accreditation requirements.
- Work closely with physicians and staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Provide education to both patients and clinic staff.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Medical Physics or a related field.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Medical Radiation Physicist.
- Board Certified ABR/ABMP in Radiation Therapy Physics or eligible for ABR or ABMP.
- Familiarity with ARIA - Record & Verify (R&V) and provides guidance and consultation for the dosimetry.
- Familiar with State of California radiation compliance standards and ability to act as administrator required.
- Ability to work individually and as a team without reservation, especially in unforeseen circumstances towards an efficient and effective department operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four (4) years of experience as a Medical Radiation Physicist.
- Experience in Varian linear accelerators is strongly preferred.
- Experience with treatment planning in external and High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy preferred.
