Grants and Finance Specialist

A leading university in New Brunswick is seeking a skilled Grants and Finance Analyst to support grant-related activities and monitor grant funding and expenditures. This is a temp to perm position with a competitive hourly rate of $35-$50 per hour.
Job Details:
- Duration: 6-12 months assignment, temp to perm
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
- Location: Onsite in New Brunswick (George Street), NJ
Key Responsibilities:
- Support grant-related activities, monitor grant funding and expenditures
- Implement monthly reconciliation procedures for all sponsored projects, including account balances and projections
- Assist with revision of grant budgets to reflect fiscal changes throughout grant terms
- Project analysis, variance analysis, cost-benefit analysis
- Submit changes to be reflected in Oracle Finance System
- Closing of accounts
- Smartsheet updates
- JE
- Form preparation
- Finance approver report
- Ad-hoc analysis
- Generating reports from Oracle and Peoplesoft
Requirements:
- Accounting/Finance degree
- Grants experience is required; could be with state or federal grants
- Pre or post-award experience is preferred
Skills:
- Must be computer savvy; strong Excel and Word skills
- Smartsheet, Oracle, and/or Marketplace experience preferred
- Good communication skills
- Punctual, dependable, and reliable
