Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Duke University. As an HVAC Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and managing the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across the university campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage the installation of HVAC systems for university buildings
- Perform engineering analysis to ensure efficient operations and compliance with design standards
- Collaborate with consultants and contractors to determine feasibility and pricing for projects
- Develop and maintain University standards for HVAC systems
- Monitor and examine expenditure of funds to established project budgets
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent understanding of HVAC mechanical equipment operation and ability to assist with field inspection and control
- Strong background in designing, troubleshooting, and optimizing functions of systems serving laboratories, cleanrooms, and critical spaces
- Knowledge of NC Building, Mechanical and Energy Codes, Life Safety Code and ASHRAE Standards
