Overview

The Senior Procurement Category Expert will engage with Global Directors and Category Managers to drive sourcing initiatives, supplier management, cost optimization, and risk mitigation strategies across both Indirect and Direct Procurement, enhancing processes to promote overall efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with Category Managers to formulate and execute comprehensive category management strategies for designated categories while acquiring in-depth knowledge of devices and services for assigned suppliers globally.

2. Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to uncover cost-reduction opportunities, identify emerging trends, and anticipate potential supply chain disruptions.

3. Investigate industry best practices in procurement, category management, and market dynamics.

4. Spearhead price analysis and address cost increases with the aim of benchmarking pricing effectively.

5. Cultivate and maintain robust, collaborative relationships with key suppliers, fostering continuous improvement in performance, pricing, and innovation.

6. Support Management in the development of RFX strategic sourcing strategies, New Product Introductions (NPI), and related initiatives.

7. Partner with Management throughout the RFP/RFQ process, leading cross-functional teams, crafting solicitation documents, evaluating proposals, and negotiating high-value contracts.

8. May oversee and negotiate Supplier contracts, including the signatory process and monitoring compliance with contract obligations.

9. Lead supplier prioritization of components with assistance from divisions for assigned suppliers globally.

10. Manage supplier performance tracking and reporting for assigned suppliers globally, presenting findings as necessary.

11. Collaborate with Management on supplier performance management programs to ensure compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations.

12. Assist in the implementation of procurement technology solutions.

13. Analyze and compile data and reports with finance, operations, quality, and other departments as required, maintaining category-specific reports and documentation.

14. Provide daily support to Procurement Leadership and Category Managers on ad-hoc projects and activities as needed.

15. Oversee supplier order management for assigned suppliers globally, coordinating with all entities on purchase order updates and providing forecasts to suppliers as necessary.

16. Engage in order management activities.

17. Support category budgets and contribute to achieving measurable cost savings while monitoring the validation status of savings.

18. Identify and implement process enhancements to streamline procurement activities and drive overall efficiency.

19. Offer strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management regarding procurement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

+ A Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience is required.

+ A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is necessary.

+ CPSM or CPM or other certifications are preferred.

+ Advanced knowledge of the job area is typically acquired through advanced education combined with experience.

+ Practical knowledge of project management may be beneficial.

+ Familiarity with Procurement or Supply Chain systems, tools, policies, and procedures is essential.

+ Experience in both Direct and Indirect Procurement is advantageous.

Qualification Requirements:

+ Proven understanding of negotiations, cost reduction strategies, and daily Procurement operations.

+ Basic knowledge of demand planning and inventory management is expected.

+ Strong communication skills are essential.

+ Ability to work effectively in both collaborative and independent environments with minimal supervision.

+ Capacity to remain calm and receptive in fast-paced situations.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
