Role Summary

We are currently in search of a driven Assistant Construction Manager based in Portland, OR.

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred but not mandatory.
Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

  • Over 10 years of experience in Construction Management.
  • Extensive experience with large-scale public infrastructure projects (including Public Utilities, Transportation, Water, and Civil works).
  • Proven ability to manage substantial projects (valued at $1B+) and effectively contribute from day one.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Project.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new software applications; current tools include SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam PDF software.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish project goals concerning schedule, budget, safety, quality, and work environment.
  • Exhibit proactive planning and leadership to guide projects to successful completion for all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with project owners, superintendents, and engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations.
  • Verify that all materials used in the project align with submitted documents, specifications, and drawings.
  • Understand and implement required testing procedures as per contract documents and industry standards.
  • Draft and prepare correspondence for clients, subcontractors, and external parties, ensuring professionalism and accuracy.
  • Oversee the change order process with project owners and trade partners, including identification, preparation, and timely submission of requests for adjustments or claims.
  • Manage submittal and RFI processes, including maintaining logs.
  • Collaborate with the Project Superintendent to manage the QA/QC process for the project.
  • Review all special inspections and material testing conducted by third parties.
  • Maintain frequent communication, both verbal and written, with general contractors, subcontractors, and owners' representatives.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $66.00 per hour

Bonus Structure: Employees may be eligible for a bonus based on individual performance, utilization, attendance, tenure, and contributions to non-financial corporate objectives, subject to management's discretion.
