Job Summary

Doyon Management Services is seeking a highly skilled Construction Safety and Health Manager to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for our employees, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Plans: Create and review accident prevention plans, conduct activity hazard analyses, and update plans as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Site Inspections: Perform daily site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Provide Safety Education and Training: Deliver on-site safety education and training to subcontractors and employees to promote a culture of safety.
  • Manage Safety Records and Reporting: Maintain accurate safety records and manage required reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with the Site Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, and other stakeholders to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of the project.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years of experience as a construction safety and health manager.
  • Certifications: 30-hour OSHA construction safety class, and certifications in fall protection, HAZWOPER 40, lead awareness, blood-borne pathogens, first aid/CPR, confined space management, and other relevant areas.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification
  • Average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 4 years
Working Environment

The Construction Safety and Health Manager will work in a fast-paced construction environment, interacting with a diverse range of people, including employees, subcontractors, and clients.

Physical Demands

The role requires performing a variety of physical tasks, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and engaging in repetitive motions.
