Human Resources Support Specialist

LMI is seeking a highly skilled professional to support our team within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). This role will provide critical support to the A&S human resources staff in the Directorate for Business Operations by advising senior level authorities on civilian staffing, in and out-processing A&S employees, awards, and records management to comply with regulatory mandates.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, with experience in leading and providing technical guidance and direction involving multiple projects of high complexity. They will also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior-level staff and collaborate with a broad range of personnel.
Responsibilities:- Develop and staff internal HR policies, instructions, and procedures governing HR functional areas within OUSD(A&S).
- Serve as the primary Records Manager for DBO HR, ensuring accurate and timely management of HR data.
- Prepare and brief various HR data reports, including trend analyses, to support OUSD(A&S) talent management programs.
- Perform HR administrative duties, including managing incoming/outgoing correspondence and suspense actions.
- Coordinate and prepare directorate personnel actions, schedule meetings and conferences, and oversee data collection and analysis.
- Develop and deliver briefings and white papers to document and provide results of analysis performed.
- Perform editing, document formatting, and proofreading to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Respond to internal and external substantive questions and inquiries on assigned tasks and projects.
- Analyze and respond to congressional, DoDIG, and GAO inquiries regarding portfolio programs.
- Track programs throughout the acquisition lifecycle to monitor execution and end-to-end functionality within cost and schedule constraints.
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience supporting executive level DoD leadership
- Existing knowledge of DoD/OSD, a strategic mindset, and good written and oral communications skills
- Experience in leading and providing technical guidance and direction involving multiple projects of high complexity
- Must have experience in managing customer expectations and working directly with customers
- Must have outstanding customer service abilities, initiative, judgement, creativity, flexibility, and confidence
- Must have the ability to multi-task across multiple projects
- Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.
