What are we seeking in our Supply Chain Manager?

Russell Tobin & Associates is representing a leading pharmaceutical organization in their search for a Supply Chain Manager.

This role serves as a vital link among Production Planning, Site Scheduling, Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and suppliers. The individual will be tasked with aligning the operational capabilities of the site with its requirements, under the supervision of the Head of Planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and fulfill site-specific stakeholder needs by leveraging knowledge and aligning with category strategies and sourcing directives.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the communication of status updates, progress reports, results, and action plans with both site and global stakeholders.
  • Oversee the strategic procurement of materials within the designated category, ensuring compliance with both internal and external standards, including cost, delivery timelines, and quality.
  • Conduct RFx processes and negotiate volumes, processes, and performance metrics with suppliers at local, regional, and global levels, adhering to global category strategies and procurement policies.
  • Formulate regional and site-specific sourcing plans and supplier strategies for assigned categories and material groups, ensuring alignment with global category strategies.
  • Monitor adherence to established specifications, address and resolve issues, and implement action plans with teams and suppliers to mitigate performance challenges and ensure a steady supply of direct materials.
  • Take ownership of actions related to assigned material categories to help achieve financial objectives and delivery metrics, such as savings and supplier delivery performance.
  • Ensure the efficient procurement and supply of materials in the correct quantities, meeting price and specification requirements to support manufacturing operations.
  • Independently lead business review meetings and assist in supplier review meetings with selected vendors.
  • Engage in negotiations aligned with global category strategies and facilitate solution-oriented discussions with suppliers and service providers, including senior management when necessary.
  • Actively participate in and drive cost optimization initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, material costs, and supply chain effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with local, regional, and global stakeholders, both internal and external, ensuring transparent communication regarding procurement activities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in purchasing or planning within an integrated ERP environment, preferably with SAP.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Purchasing and Vendor Management.
  • Commercial training complemented by relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP.
  • Background in Supply Chain or Material Management, particularly with spare parts.
  • Professional certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, ISM, or APICS.
