About the Role

Penske Logistics is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our team as a Roadside Assistance Specialist. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to our customers who require emergency roadside assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to roadside assistance calls and repair units, identifying and documenting parts requiring replacement and warrantable repairs.
  • Perform diagnostics and non-roadside assistance call repairs as needed, ensuring efficient and effective resolution.
  • Restock the rapid assist vehicle with tools, parts, tires, and other necessary supplies to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the road assist vehicle to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with designated in-shop repairs as directed by your supervisor, ensuring seamless workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in other projects and tasks assigned by your supervisor, contributing to the growth and success of our team.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Vocational or technical training, or certification, is preferred.
  • Specialized training in the repair and replacement of vehicle components is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of shop tools is required.
  • A current CDL license with air brake certification is required.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems are preferred.
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions is required.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary within the district, work the required schedule, and complete Penske employment application are required.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
  • The associate is required to use their hands on a routine and daily basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or otherwise operate required tools or controls.
  • The associate must be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms.
  • The associate must be able to safely work in all weather conditions.
  • Given the frequent movement of large trucks through the workplace, the associate must be able to see and hear in order to safely navigate the work environment.
  • The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
