Job Title: Events and Marketing Coordinator

College of the Canyons is seeking a highly skilled Events and Marketing Coordinator to join our Foundation office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Foundation special events, administrative, clerical, and specialized office support functions, as well as advancing fundraising initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and execute all aspects of Foundation special events, including venue reservations, event planning, and logistics.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote Foundation events and fundraising programs.
  • Collaborate with event committees, create timelines, and programs to ensure successful events.
  • Assist with Foundation board meeting support, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and coordination.
  • Oversee the Foundation's social media channels and create engaging content to promote events and fundraising programs.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks, including maintaining event calendars, schedules, and appointments, processing event purchase requisitions, and answering inquiries.
  • Monitor event budgets, credit card expenses, and other financial items under the supervision of the Foundation Administration.
  • Coordinate event-related purchases, such as food, beverages, decorations, and supplies.
  • Coordinate the set-up and clean-up of all department events, in coordination with campus Facilities/Civic Center.
  • Perform data input and data retrieval for all relevant department functions, reports, contact spreadsheets, email distribution lists, and managing RSVP lists.
  • Creates, maintains, and monitors online event registration web pages in Raiser's Edge and NXT database.
Requirements:
  • Three or more years of experience in event planning, administrative, and clerical roles.
  • Experience in marketing, online communications, and website management.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and administrative software systems.
  • Knowledge of fundraising and donor management software, such as Blackbaud or Raiser's Edge.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in creating, modifying, and maintaining websites.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience performing administrative support duties in a community college or other post-secondary educational institution.
