About the Role

This is an on-site position in a manufacturing facility. The Process Engineer Intern at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for learning and subsequently implementing the company's production system methodology on multiple production lines and throughout different systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement processes to produce high-quality products.
  • Analyze manufacturing problems to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including visual work instructions and standard work combination tables.
  • Assess existing processes for areas of improvement using Lean Manufacturing concepts, such as Kaizen, TPM, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Design and source equipment for manufacturing processes, evaluating and recommending the implementation of competitive technology.
  • Collaborate with plant maintenance to ensure the facility and equipment are maintained and updated to meet short- and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Provide training to associates as required.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to monitor and document quality standards.
  • Present a capstone project at the conclusion of the internship program.
Requirements
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or higher.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or Solid Works is preferred.
