Vanguard is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Specialist within the Corporate Accounting Operations (CAO) division. This position is integral to the US Revenue Accounting Team, which ensures that domestic revenue transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with US Accounting Standards for external financial reporting, tax obligations, and internal business performance evaluations.

The US Revenue Accounting Team collaborates closely with various internal stakeholders, including Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Financial Reporting, Billing & Receivables, and different business units, to gain insights into domestic revenue-generating activities and new product offerings. The team is accountable for producing precise financial data, managing month-end closing procedures, maintaining effective internal controls, and analyzing business performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all corporate accounting closing tasks for designated functional areas. Prepare monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and journal entries. Review the accuracy and compliance of the team's work.
  • Manage processes related to the analysis of domestic business operations and obligations to ensure the correct recording of financial standings. Assist in preparing and communicating monthly financial outcomes to management.
  • Independently identify issues. Lead initiatives to investigate problems, formulate recommendations, resolve complex challenges, and implement necessary changes.
  • Design, propose, and execute internal control procedures that guarantee accurate recording and reporting of financial positions while preventing significant accounting errors.
  • Compile and generate monthly reports required by senior management and regulatory bodies. Support external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Mentor and train temporary staff to ensure timely and precise task completion.
  • Engage in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three years of relevant business experience, with a preference for financial accounting experience.
  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
