Job Summary

The Office of Communications at Chicago Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled Senior Digital Media Specialist to play a key role in promoting the district's vision, mission, and activities through a range of digital tools and strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the internal video production process, adhering to project schedules and deadlines, and communicating proactively with the digital team.
  • Lead live-event production, including press conferences, announcements, celebrations, and community events.
  • Create processes and procedures for live event setup, equipment, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to team ideation, storyboarding, shot scheduling, production, and editing of high-quality videos and photos.
  • Support post-production processes, including research, export, and upload of final files.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Specialist to deliver compelling content across multiple social media platforms.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts, Film, Digital Production, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in event production, audio and video setup, and video filming and editing.
  • Experience in live-streaming events and filming in HD with video cameras or high-product DSLR.
  • Strong technical familiarity related to venues and end-to-end video production.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with the digital team.
Conditions of Employment
  • Establish and maintain Chicago residency within six months of hire date.
  • Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
