Position Summary

The Peer Recovery Support Supervisor plays a crucial role within a multidisciplinary team, offering guidance and support to mentors and individuals facing challenges related to substance use, mental health issues, and gambling addictions, all while promoting a Trauma-Informed Care approach. This position oversees peer support programs and provides leadership to peer staff and individuals in recovery.


Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate both individual and group supervision sessions, delivering constructive feedback to peer staff.
  • Provide leadership to the team and drive the advancement of Peer Services at Oregon Change Clinic.
  • Link participants to diverse recovery support models and community resources, assisting them in building a robust support network. This may include teaching clients how to access community resources such as recovery services, housing, and public transportation, and advocating for clients as needed.
  • Oversee the daily operations of housing programs, serving as the main contact for housing-related inquiries.
  • Assist in managing crisis situations as necessary, adhering to emergency protocols and collaborating with the treatment team to ensure a trauma-informed environment for both program participants and staff. Aim to prevent escalation and de-escalate ongoing crises.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Recovery Mentor working with adults experiencing Substance Use Disorders, along with:
  • Completion of CRMII training recognized by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and two years in a supervisory role.
  • Alternatively, an AA degree in Social Services, CRMI certification, and two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in employing patient-centered, trauma-informed care practices with adults.
  • Experience in a multicultural and diverse work environment.
  • Background in community healthcare, particularly with underserved populations, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Medication Supported Recovery (MSR), also known as Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT), is advantageous.
