Position Summary:

The Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) / Peer Support Specialist (PSS) plays a crucial role in providing support to individuals facing challenges related to substance use and co-occurring mental health issues. This position requires a minimum of two years of sustained recovery and lived experience with addiction.

The CRM/PSS will engage with individuals receiving short-term medical care and stabilization services, offering a compassionate and understanding presence. Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating connections to community resources, including behavioral health services and recovery support.
  • Providing follow-up support in various settings, including individuals' homes and community spaces.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Documenting interactions and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience: Must identify as having lived experience of recovery from addiction, with a preference for experience working with adults facing similar challenges.

Skills:

  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic systems relevant to job functions.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in team meetings and care conferences.
  • Support individuals in exploring their recovery journey and wellness strategies.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of peer support interactions.
