Job Overview

The Peer Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for delivering peer recovery assistance to individuals engaged with ODHS Child Welfare and facing challenges related to substance use. This role aims to facilitate clients in obtaining necessary care, achieving long-term recovery, and managing the intricacies of sobriety. The Peer Recovery Support Specialist will operate in collaboration with various agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide transportation for clients to legal proceedings
  • Act as a bridge between DHS and Holistic Healing Behavioral Healthcare
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to execute recovery services
  • Link clients to essential community resources
  • Inform clients about substance use and available treatment options
  • Offer peer support and assist clients in setting recovery objectives
  • Work alongside the care team to develop treatment strategies
  • Facilitate transportation for clients as needed
  • Help clients with documentation and accessing necessary services
  • Encourage ongoing participation in treatment and recovery
  • Engage in case planning discussions and maintain communication with referring caseworkers
  • Serve as a liaison with various community organizations
  • Prepare necessary documentation and provide testimony when required
  • Support clients in multiple facets of their recovery journey
  • Utilize effective coaching methodologies
  • Create outreach and support tools for client engagement
