Position Overview:
This role is designed for a dedicated professional to oversee the financial integrity of the department within a prestigious academic institution. The Senior Financial Accountant will collaborate closely with departmental leadership to ensure fiscal stability and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Dean and Business Administrator to maintain financial health.
  • Conduct account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Utilize financial software to align transactions with source documents.
  • Document discrepancies and resolve any financial irregularities.
  • Monitor departmental expenditures and prepare budget transfers.
  • Process requisitions and invoices for timely payments.
  • Generate comprehensive financial statements and cash flow analyses.
  • Facilitate cost transfers between departments as necessary.
  • Perform detailed financial analyses to support departmental goals.
  • Advise on resource allocation to optimize financial performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial reports.
  • Manage various financial projects, ensuring objectives are met efficiently.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering professional development.
  • Address financial inquiries and ensure data accuracy.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, along with substantial professional experience in accounting. Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency in financial software are essential. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required to succeed in this role.
