Job Summary

The Director for Leadership and Planned Giving will provide strategic leadership for the development and implementation of comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the mission of InsideHigherEd. This role will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and completion of capital and comprehensive campaigns, as well as managing a small portfolio of high-dollar fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve fundraising goals and objectives
  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of capital and comprehensive campaigns
  • Manage a small portfolio of high-dollar fundraising efforts, including identifying, negotiating, and closing substantial gifts and pledges
  • Represent InsideHigherEd in fundraising efforts, building relationships with donors, alumni, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Advancement Leadership Team to ensure effective division-wide collaboration and execution of objectives
  • Supervise and provide guidance to team members, including the development and implementation of metrics for the leadership and planned giving team
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 6-8 years of successful fundraising experience and demonstrated success in leadership and planned giving
  • Prior experience with planning, executing, and completing capital or comprehensive campaigns is strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people and organizations are essential
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to think in a strategic manner
  • Strong management abilities and excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • CFRE certificate preferred
Work Environment

This is a full-time exempt position. The successful candidate will be required to work in a hybrid environment, with occasional travel required.
