Job Title: IT Director

Job Summary:

The City of Atlanta is seeking an experienced IT Director to lead our Digital Transformation efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight of our Office of Digital Transformation (ODT). This includes establishing frameworks for implementation and operationalization, as well as execution of these programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the City of Atlanta's Smart City ecosystem.
  • Provide leadership in establishing and operationalizing the City's Data Management and Analytics strategy.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute a roadmap for enhancing user experiences.
  • Employ strategic tools to develop and assess technological options, ensuring logical reasoning and advancing experiences.
  • Participate in the development and use of tools to facilitate strategy development and processes associated with budgeting, portfolio management, and other areas as needed.
  • Provide program oversight to the ODT and senior leadership teams in the implementation of the City's innovation initiatives.
  • Identify, lead, and manage approaches to business challenges and work with teams across the City to deliver data insights.
  • Provide oversight for governance of projects, performance measurement, and portfolio management.
  • Manage complex projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectives.
Requirements:
  • Exceptional leadership skills with exceptional communication and presence.
  • Demonstrates extremely high emotional intelligence.
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple IT control and project management practices and experience working across large infrastructure environments.
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategy.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and operational management skills.
  • The ability to analyze projects, assess technical risk, and communicate the impact to the business.
  • The written and verbal communication skills needed to effectively articulate complex technology topics across all levels of the organization.
