About the Role

Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Coordinator II to join our Home Base team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Check-in and Welcome: Provide a warm and welcoming experience for patients arriving for visits, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process.
  • Communication and Documentation: Effectively manage incoming communications from patients and families, investigate and document patient needs, concerns, and expectations, and communicate back to patients in a timely manner.
  • Appointment Scheduling and Management: Manage and maintain appointment scheduling for patients within various programs, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to providers, including managing complex administrative patient issues, triaging and managing telephone calls, and maintaining confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with clinicians, wellness, and outreach staff to direct messages to team members, support patient care services, and engage with care teams as needed.
  • Record Management: Manage incoming paper medical records, storage, and access to paper records when needed, and document receipt of outside records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Special Projects: Assist with special projects as requested by the Practice Manager, including preparing mailings and providing cross-coverage for other Clinic staff members.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: 2+ years' experience in a highly clinically customer service-focused role, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, strong computer skills, knowledge of MS Office software, and excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Working Conditions: Office/Ambulatory Care Setting, with some work performed remotely.
