About the Role

Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Coordinator II to join our Home Base team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Check-in and Welcome: Provide a warm and welcoming experience for patients arriving for visits, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process.
  • Communication and Documentation: Effectively manage incoming communications from patients and families, investigate and document patient needs, and communicate back to patients in a timely and compassionate manner.
  • Appointment Scheduling and Management: Manage and maintain appointment scheduling for patients within various programs, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to providers, including medical scheduling services, and assist with special projects as needed.
  • Confidentiality and HIPAA Compliance: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines, ensuring the protection of patient information.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with care teams, including clinicians, wellness, and outreach staff, to ensure seamless communication and patient care.
  • Record Management: Manage and maintain patient files, both in paper and electronic form, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: 2+ years of experience in a highly clinically customer service-focused role, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, strong computer skills, and excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and Competencies: Knowledge of MS Office software, Epic experience preferred, and understanding of medical referral and prior authorization process.
