Job Summary:

Omni Hotels is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Chef to join our culinary team at the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta. As a critical member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the kitchen and food production for the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily execution of all assigned kitchen food production and service execution.
  • Participate in the interview, hiring, coaching, and counseling procedures.
  • Write schedules and adhere to established budgetary guidelines for labor control.
  • Oversee the ordering, receiving, and storage of all food products.
  • Execute all special projects as given by executive chef.
  • Participate in all long-range planning, including new menus, equipment, budget planning, and renovations.
  • Maintain food cost at budgetary guidelines.
  • Write and cost recipes.
  • Supervise all kitchen staff on a daily basis.

Requirements:

  • Experience in high-quality hotel or freestanding restaurant desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to solve problems in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent food technique and cultural knowledge.
  • Advanced butchery knowledge.
  • Ability to plan and execute projects and quantify results.
  • Ability to delegate work with proper instructions and follow up.
  • Must be able to work standing on your feet for at least 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds.
  • Must have color vision and depth perception for food preparation and food presentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within the kitchen.
  • Serve Safe certified food manager required.
