Wealth Management & Trust Specialist


The Wealth Management & Trust Specialist delivers comprehensive Wealth Management solutions to affluent clients of Usb (Union Savings Bank) in collaboration with the entire Wealth Management Team.

This role involves the formulation of enduring financial strategies for clients, recommending financial instruments and services that align with the objectives of the financial strategy and the needs of the client.

The Specialist is also tasked with the oversight of trust, charitable, personal investment management, employee benefit, and IRA accounts.

This encompasses managing all accounts in compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards, bank policies, and procedures, while coordinating with internal team members and external service providers as necessary.

Financial Strategy Development


Lead the financial strategy function to advance the Department's long-term strategic objectives and enhance key planning and client experience initiatives.

Own and direct the financial strategy process, which includes designing, analyzing, and presenting tailored plans that reflect each client's unique circumstances.

Key focus areas include goal assessment, estate planning, educational funding, philanthropic giving, tax considerations, insurance needs, and social security.

Manage the financial strategy workflow and responsibilities, which include meeting preparation, financial plan development, direct client engagement, follow-up, and client service.
Act as the subject matter expert, remaining informed on current planning issues.

Additionally, serve as the authority on financial planning software, as well as Excel and PowerPoint, and cash flow analysis tools to provide insights into a client's current and prospective financial landscape.

Develop comprehensive financial strategies for clients, and recommend products and services that support their long-term planning objectives.

Review all final iterations of financial strategies prior to client presentations, providing constructive feedback for enhancements and efficiencies in the planning deliverable. Assess software updates and enhancements as necessary.
Monitor client progress and keep them informed about any changes that may impact their financial situation.

Maximize opportunities to increase assets under management through the financial strategy process. Integrate assets held externally into existing client relationships and formulate retention strategies for accounts at risk.
Collaborate with colleagues across Usb to cultivate and develop new client relationships and cross-sell opportunities among clients. Conduct educational sessions and referral training as needed.
Partner with the marketing team and colleagues to create marketing presentation materials to support business development efforts.
Drive business development through community engagement and professional networks.

Trust & Account Management


As the primary account officer, responsible for nurturing client relationships and managing all administrative and fiduciary responsibilities for each assigned account in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and trust documents.

Deliver exceptional service and maintain open communication with clients; address client concerns promptly, incorporating appropriate counsel—legal and/or accounting as necessary.

Advise clients on fiduciary administration, financial, tax, and estate planning matters. Review trust documents and summarize trust powers and potential concerns.
Conduct annual administrative account reviews for all designated accounts. Evaluate client and bank documentation for compliance, consistency, and proper execution. Actively participate in the Trust Administrative Committee (TAC) and Trust Investment Committee (TIC).
Maximize the use of the trust operations system; serve as the expert on the system for support staff.

Special Projects

Engage as part of a team to lead and participate in project initiatives within the Department.
Provide opportunities for professional development through education and training; equip employees with the necessary tools and skills for growth at Usb.

Perform the following HR processes:
performance/incentive/introductory period reviews, career development, training, and disciplinary/corrective actions.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Experience in Financial Planning is essential.
